Position Overview:
As an Interventional Radiologic Technologist at Kansas City Vascular Institute, you will play a critical role in the care continuum for our vascular patients. We are seeking a patient-centered, self-driven, motivated Interventional Radiologic Technologist who is committed to providing exceptional patient care.
To be successful, you will need to be able to work effectively in both team and autonomous settings. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, adaptable, task-oriented, resourceful, and possess strong communication skills.
Shift details: Monday and Tuesday, 8-hour or 10-hour options are available
No nights, holidays, or weekends.
No call.
Opportunity for additional hours to cover for peers.
Qualifications
- Completed education required to obtain a license to practice as a registered radiologic technologist in the state of Kansas.
- Licensed with the Kansas Board of Healing Arts as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Registered with ARRT as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Has one or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, three years preferred.
- Must have BLS Certification and be willing to obtain ACLS in the first year of employment.
Role and Responsibilities
- Performs at an expert clinical level and assists the physician in the performance of adult endovascular procedures.
- Implement safe and efficient procedural care to interventional radiology patients within Kansas City Vascular Institute's policies and procedures across a variety of populations and complexity of situations within the scope of practice.
- Functions as first assist to the interventional radiologist during sterile procedures, including preparation, draping, and instrumentation.
- Demonstrate expertise as an interventional radiologic technologist in the areas of: technical skills, use of radiological equipment & safety, image acquisition, transferring and archiving of images, and troubleshooting equipment.
- Maintain the C-Arm and Ultrasound equipment and perform testing and/or quality control procedures.
- Apply knowledge of radiation physics, safety regulations, and policies and procedures regarding radiation safety to limit radiation exposure of the patient, fellow workers, self, and general public to as low as reasonably achievable and exercises discretion and judgement in the performance of radiographic procedures.
- Additional duties as assigned, subject to applicable Rules and Regulations in the State of Kansas.
